Welcome to our September 2011 SAP Change Control eNews. According to Gartner, enterprise data will increase 650 percent over the next 5 years. IDC pegs enterprise data doubling every 18 months, and MGI estimates that enterprises globally stored more than 7 exabytes - thousands of petabytes - of new data in 2010 alone. Managing changes to the enterprise software that collects, stores and makes available this data is fast becoming a critical activity and leaving it to human effort and manual methods is when change control software is to run unnecessary risk.

Controlling changes to the enterprise software that collects, stores and makes available this data is a critical IT activity. Controlling change with manual methods relying on human discipline is costly and risky. Better, is to implement readily available change control software to automate and enforce change activity to better safeguard the validity of data and its availability - a topic we have been covering recently and extend in this issue.
